Bar Brief: Beer Culture

A slice of kitschy Americana with a great beer selection... and also whisky.
  • Location: Hell's Kitchen
  • Designation: beer bar
  • Whisky selection: >20, mostly American
  • Average to good prices for the area

Walk into Beer Culture and you are likely to be reminded of  your grandpa's basement. Old metal beer signs adorn the walls, a functioning 'ice box' style fridge houses the cheap canned beer, and the music is provided by a selection of vinyl records behind the bar.

High bar, low seating.
While this bar is not what you'd classify as a whiskey bar, it has enough of a selection to not leave you disappointed. A few staples from each type of whiskey mean that you can enjoy a dram even while out with friends who prefer beer. A larger tap selection as well as multiple fridges in the back offer up a beer nerd's wet dream in selection.

Whisky! At a beer bar!
Beer Culture is a welcome respite in this area of the city and provides a intimate setting to enjoy a beer or some whiskey with friends or on a date.  Its somewhat hidden location means that the crowd tends to be those who have sought out this establishment instead of those who just stumbled in randomly.

Rating: recommend x3.
