The Gibson is a self-proclaimed "Whiskey Bar" in the heart of Brooklyn's hipsteriest neighborhood. Let's go to there.
SO MANY WHISKY. Cannot properly photo. |
- Location: Williamsburg, Brooklyn
- Designation: whiskey bar
- Whisky selection: 100+ from the commoners to the rarest of the rare
- Average Brooklyn prices
Healthy dram on the bar. |
With a meager sign out front and the classed-up dive bar motif, it would be very easy to pass by the Gibson with nary a glance. But you, dear whiskey lover, would be sorely regretting not giving it a shot. Lovers of all things dive and off the beaten path will instantly feel at home here.
Lots of open space for foosball and Wii. |
The first thing the eye is drawn to is of course the whiskey selection. And man do they have a lot. We counted approximately 166 bottles. All categories of liquid gold deliciousness are represented here, with a spirit list that organizes its whiskies by both category and in ascending price order, you can feel assured that the bar has both you and your wallet's best interest in mind (not to mention that they offer discounts on 1oz tasting pours). A classic rock smattering on the speakers, a friendly yet non-obtrusive bartender and craft beers and cocktails make this a must visit spot on any whiskey lover's journey to Williamsburg.
Rating: recommend x3.
