Tonight is Burns Night!


It's Burns Night, celebration of Scotland's Robbie Burns, national romantic poet and lover of scotch:

"O thou, my muse! guid auld Scotch drink!
Whether thro' wimplin worms thou jink,
Or, richly brown, ream owre the brink,
In glorious faem,
Inspire me, till I lisp an' wink,

Today is also Irish Coffee Day


Besides it being Burns Night for the Scots, today is also Irish Coffee Day for the folks across the North Channel. Sure, the cocktail wasn't actually released as a thing until November 10, 1952 in San Francisco, but who's going to argue? November 10 was already taken as Panamanian Cry of Independence Day, after all.
