2015 Midyear Top 10 Whiskies Countdown: #1

And the winner is...
We're halfway through the year (or just finished up the fiscal), so it's time to take stock of what we've done so far. TIME TO RANK THE TOP 10 WHISKIES!

Disclaimer: this is a top 10 of the whiskies we've podcasted about over the last 6 months. This is not a top 10 of all whiskies ever.

#1 Laphroaig

Awwwww peat peat peat peat peat. Our favorite whisky of the year came from a guest who said he didn't know a lick about whisky. Thanks, Mike! Check the Laphroaig website here.

"Laphroaig is one of, if not the best Islay whisky distillers, and their 10 year is a rightfully one of the premier expressions of that style of whisky. It hits all the notes you want as a peat lover, or at the very least immediately lets you know if you're not one. Full disclosure: since buying a bottle makes you a partial land owner of the distillery's property, we are obviously biased." - Evan

"The golden standard on Islay whisky. Smokey, savory, and smooth. The affordable price tag means that this can be a whisky for all occasions. And you even get a lease on one square food of land at the distillery! How can you beat that?" - Greg

"Tastes like a car on fire in the absolute best way possible." - Quinn
